Inspection 9/15/20

I do not have very many pictures from this inspection. What I do have is a video of the whole thing! The video has the highlights of the inspection, edited, curated, and set to music.

Inspection 8/30/20

We inspected the short hive first. (I think I will call it that from now on; it’s easier to remember.) They had a lot of bees getting ready for the goldenrod nectar flow. We noticed many cells of pollen in the hive. We did not see the queen, but we did see eggs and brood.

Inspection 7/26/20

The bees on hive #1 thought that it was time to throw out drones. I do not know why. Maybe the bees thought there was a bit of a dearth. Or there were too many drones according to the bees. But anyhow, we decided it was a fine day to get into the bee hives.

Inspection 7/19/20

I decided it was going to be a quick inspection, that is, if we found a queen in hive #2 (AKA the weak hive). I was hoping that there was a queen because, really, who would not want a queen? If we did not have a queen, I would have to lift the heavy second
